It's because your sweat glands and oil glands are getting clogged up and the result is spots. When washing up try using a sponge, or towel to exfoliate the skin once-twice a week. Exfoliation with a good soap will clear away the blockage (whatever is causing your glands to make spots) and will make your skin smooth in a couple hours. How can i get rid of spots on my back?

You should go to a herbal shop/soap shop I don't know what they call in them in America if that's where you live and buy yourself one of those rough scrubbers. They do hurt a little but they get rid of all the bacteria and dirt that cause spots.

Have you ever scrubbed your body hard enough and found grey dirt forming? that is the dead skin cells and dirt on your body that I believe is causing spots to form.
Go the the doctors and they will give you a special cream, or alternatively 'Clinique' do a really good product called 'Anti-blemish solutions body spray'. Use this daily and your skin will soon clear up
Get a Loofah (can be found at Target or Walmart, etc.) (It's the long big scrubbers to reach those hard to reach areas like your back)

Don't ever touch your back

Use a mild body cleanser nothing too harsh. Use like Aveeno or Cetaphil.
It maybe that you are using too much shower gel
