What product can I use to get even skin tone? (main problems are dark spots and redness)?

Hi.

I've had problem w/ some dark spots and redness for as long as I can remember and I'm trying to find a product that will reduce the redness and lighten or fade the dark spots. Currently the only product I use is St. Ives Apricot scrub about 2 or 3 times a week and I moisturize daily w/ a face cream called Complex 15 moisturizing face cream. But like I said, I don't know what to use for the dark spots and redness. Can anyone recommend any good products for these problems?

ThanksWhat product can I use to get even skin tone? (main problems are dark spots and redness)?
Products with hydroquinone and kojic acid in them are specifically formulated to fade out uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation. You can buy products with 2% hydroquinone in them but need a prescription for 4% formulations.

There is a really awesome website with a skincare forum with people who have tried various products and give product reviews and skincare advice http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/ Check it out - it is REALLY interesting.

They also sell various products on their website for really reasonable prices. They also offer discounts if you join their forum and post 10 or more comments. Its free - I'm on there all the time.

Or you can try Obagi Nu-Derm which is also formulated for that type of problemWhat product can I use to get even skin tone? (main problems are dark spots and redness)?
Depends what the redness is. I have been using Virtual Laser Redness Rescue (available at Walgreens) %26amp; if has helped. I think mine is broken capillaries. I also have melasma (darker skin, especially around jaw). The best thing I can recommend for that is to keep your face out of the sun and use sunscreen. Tanning will make it worse. Also, for the redness, don't use hot water, just warm, and don't use products containing fragrance on your face.
u can try 'fade out'. im currently using it but its been only 1 week. or u can try whitening skincare. lancome and loreal make good ones.
Dark spots and skin discoloration are often caused by sun exposure or irritation associated with acne blemishes (on bronze skin tones). These triggers activate pigment-producing cells that form melanin, which eventually travels to the surface of the skin, causing freckles, dark spots and uneven coloration to appear. When you can interrupt the appearance of melanin on the surface of your skin, the result is more even skin tone.

The product description does not say it helps with redness but it helped mine. It brightens and evens the complexion.

Okay, don't use the Apricot Scrub. It can actually make your skin look less uneven. I made the same mistake. Try Olay regenerist scrub. It is expensive, like $10 but you only need a quarter sized amount and it lasts a long time. It has seriously helped with my dark spots. I'm not sure what your redness is from though, so I can't help you with that...I like to use the Olay and then moisturize. Try it, it may help and good luck! : )
