Pulling out lots of hair from certain spots of my head ?

I'm an 18 year old male and I'm very fearfull of losing my hair as it runs on my father's side of the family.

Lately my scalp has been very sensitive. The back of my head especially aches and and is sore to the touch. But I've noticed lately that parts of my head in the front and back get a little sore and sensitive and when I clench my hands and run it through that part of my head I will pull out up to 2-3 hairs at time,, every time, for a short period of time. I also have a small lump on the back left side of my head.

I'm extremely worried about losing my hair and have been basically praying that I get my mother's side of the family's hair genes. Is this what it's like to lose your hair, or could I be experiencing something else? I've also been under a lot of stress the last two months.

Is there any hope that this is some kind of scalp/skin problem? I've only noticed it the last month or two in excess. I did have a sort of dermatitus and psoriasis problem as a baby.Pulling out lots of hair from certain spots of my head ?
Are you sure that this stress hasnt been causing you to pull your own hair out, sort of without realising it? Because there is a condition called trichotilllomania that could be linked to your stress

Hope your ok!Pulling out lots of hair from certain spots of my head ?
Firstly, don't clench your hands and run them through your hair!!!

Secondly, stress will induce hair loss. I suffered 50% hair loss when I was really stressed. So deal with the stress issues as well.

Go to your doctor, and get a referral to a hair specialist.

women carry the gene for baldness, not the males. you need to go to a doctor or a dermatologist to see if anything is wrong. 2-3 hairs is not a big deal, but if your scalp is sore, then it could be something else. don't wait.
